If you ignore the physical relationship part or if you go 1 step further and ignore any thoughts or fantasies of a potential physical relationship further down, what then is the difference between a guy-and-girl who are committed, going out or whatever and a guy-and-girl who are just friends???

may be the long-term commitment ? i mean,the friends can be committed to their friendship too...but still they may have another person into their lives some time...but those who r committed are bound to be stuck up to each other(or,it is so believed).

n wats wid de long term commitment??? i've seen frenz stay committed 4 a longer time than ppl in love. u noe t doesn't hv 2 b that way.
Commitment is all about the person. If the person is sincere at heart, then all his relationships, with guys or girls, strictly platonic or otherwise, goes on to stand the test of time. But if the person is an asshole, he loses his girlfriend just as quickly as he loses a friend. Simple as heck.
Well, and for ur first question, abt whether a guy and a girl can actually look at each other without even a speck of sexual attraction... it really depends on where u look. If it is the filtered thought that passes through all sorts of ethical and cultural processing, then yes. If u look at the raw human thought then its a big NO.(Because if a person's brain is working like its supposed to be, then he's got to be continually looking for means to proliferate his species.)
